Here is Day 1 - Saturday Dec 29th 2012
Matt gave his lovely chainsaw lots of good use! He completely removed the trellis with the massive morning glory tree. Now I know you might say morning glory isn't a tree its a vine. It had a trunk the same size as two other trees in our yard, so it is a tree.
(PS take note of that large bush to the left along the fence line cause that wont be there for long!)
We removed lots of vine and a VERY overgrown fern.
Removed all walkway plants
Trimmed a low lying branch of the Avocado Tree
This is our trimmings pile by the end of the day.
Sunday is the day of rest
Monday came with more chainsaw action/repair. But not many pictures. so here is the one picture I took on Mon. Matt was removing the part of the pine tree that was touching the AT&T wire.
Tuesday was a big day. It started with the hacking of the 14 ft tall bush. (more chainsawing)
Our pile got bigger and bigger
So we had to jump on it to make more room! It was actually really fun to jump on the pile because it was like a natural trampoline. It just kept bouncing back.
I know I haven't posted the "Before" of the interior of the house but I just had to show this to you. As we were trying to remove wall paper my blade sank into the wall and I thought I had made a big hole. But as we removed the wall paper that covered said hole, we found that someone had wall papered right over an old electrical outlet. Classy!
Back on to the yard work :) we removed the small cinder block retaining wall.
and our pile is now very large!
here is the view from the other side.
The last big project worked on today was the old coy pond.
they started to remove the rocks and plants that made up the walls of the pond, until Matt dug up a large spiders nest. That gave everyone the "Heebee Jeebies."
Here is that nasty large bush cut in half. Way to go Matt and John!!!
Now we have a nice clear walkway.
So, with all these plants gone you can finally see the potential for our BEAUTIFUL YARD!!! its gonna be GREAT!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to our friends Jeff and Justine Waldram, John and Jessica Mastin, Cosette Ingoldsby, Elisabeth and Matthew Norman for all of their help!! We could not have done this much without you guys!
